Jacob Wentz is a Master's student specializing in global media policy.

He moved to Brussels, Belgium in September 2021 after being awarded a Fulbright fellowship. He currently works as a teaching assistant for the International Communication and Media program at Thomas More University College. In August, he will move to Bologna, Italy to pursue a Master's degree from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

Wentz previously reported for WUSF Public Media and Health News Florida. His stories have aired on radio stations across Florida, including WSLR-LP (Sarasota), WLRN-FM (Miami), WJCT-TV (Jacksonville), WMFE-FM (Orlando), WGCU Public Media (Fort Myers), WUWF-FM (Pensacola), WFIT-FM (Melbourne), and WUFT-FM (Gainesville).

Wentz holds a B.A. in International Studies and Economics from New College of Florida. During his time as Editor in Chief of the college's student-run newspaper, the publication received two "first place" awards from the American Scholastic Press Association.

He's interested in issues related to digital authoritarianism; how an increasingly globalized media landscape can both support and undermine democratic institutions, the role of social media in spreading polarization, and the power relationships between media, technology, and economics.
